PERISCOPE

Synopsis -

This creation merges architecture with periscope structures to function as a gravity battery. Built below ground, the Periscope House replaces the typical basement feel with a mild microclimate. Vertically shifting mirrors, angled at 45 degrees and powered by solar servos, open new visual and spatial dimensions. Designed by Xaveer Claerhout, Barbara Van Biervliet, and Adriaan Claerhout of Metamorphic Art Studio, it fuses sustainability, art, and transformation.

More information about the project

“ One thing is certain: by descending into the depths, this house elevates us. It invites us to look at the world differently. Through the periscope of our imagination, we can all become the architects of new worlds. Worlds where the inside and the outside are one. Worlds where living becomes an act of poetry. “
